# Introduction

> The Rookoo portal APIs for applications, platform provisioning, the chat client, and MCP.

The Rookoo portal exposes HTTP APIs and an MCP server. Interactive endpoint pages are generated from OpenAPI specs.

| Surface | Base path | Who it is for |
| - | - | - |
| Application API | `/api/v1`, `/api/v2` | Your product, acting as a user or an agent bot |
| Platform API | `/platform/api/v1` | Provisioning accounts, users, and agent bots |
| Client API | `/public/api/v1` | The chat widget and other client apps, scoped by inbox |
| Portal MCP | `/api/v1/accounts/{account_id}/mcp` | AI clients that call Rookoo tools over MCP |
| Event management | `/api/v1/accounts/{account_id}/planning/…` | Events, allocations, quotes, rates, spaces |

The server for every request is `https://app.rookoo.ai`.

## Application API

Use the Application API to work inside an account: conversations, contacts, messages, inboxes, teams, reports, webhooks, help center, planning, knowledge bases, Copilot, and Rookoo agents.

Most routes are scoped to an account:

```
https://app.rookoo.ai/api/v1/accounts/{account_id}/conversations
```

Authenticate with a user access token, an agent bot token, or an [OAuth client](/oauth-clients). See [Authentication](/authentication).

## Event management

Plan and sell venue events: create inquiries, book space allocations, price with rates, and send quotes. Start with the [Events overview](/events/overview).

## Portal MCP

AI clients can connect to the portal MCP server and call tools for planning, knowledge bases, inboxes, agents, and more. Start with [MCP overview](/mcp/overview).

## Platform API

Use the Platform API to create accounts and users, attach users to accounts, and manage agent bots. These routes are for a platform app, not for an end-user token.

## Client API

Use the Client API from a website or app that talks to one inbox. Requests identify the inbox with its `inbox_identifier`. They do not use an access token.

## Enterprise APIs

Enterprise-only Chatwoot endpoints are not documented here. That includes audit logs, reporting events, SLA policies, Captain enterprise routes, SAML settings, agent capacity policies, voice conference, and the `/enterprise` namespace.

## OpenAPI specs

Use these specs with Postman, Insomnia, codegen, or any OpenAPI client. You can also download them from any reference page via **Download OpenAPI spec**.
